The piece “La Machine Désirante” is an interpretation of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s concept of desiring-production, which opposes the Sigmund Freudian conception of the unconscious as a representational theater. In this framework, desire is not an imaginary force based on lack; rather, it is a real and productive force—a will to power. The desiring-machine continuously produces flows of desire from within itself and is grounded not in absence but in excess.

The background depicts the flag of France. This documentary gesture situates the work in relation to the 2016 terror attacks in France, linking the theoretical concept of the desiring-machine to historical reality and lived political events.
